Dr. John deGruchy has provided Chiropractic care to the Silver Lake community for the past 30 years.
Originally from Canada, Dr. deGruchy worked in Vancouver as a Criminologist with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, after graduating from Carleton University in Ottowa. During that time he was treated by a Chiropractor for injuries sustained in an auto accident 3 years prior. The pain and symptoms soon disappeared, despite having been treated by numerous medical specialists with no improvement.
He was so impressed with the results of his Chiropractic treatment that he resigned, moved to Toronto and attended Chiropractic College for the next 4 years. He followed this with 2 years of study in a Fellowship Residency program at the same College.
From 1976-1979, he ran his own Chiropractic Clinical Practice in Toronto and taught at the College in Toronto as part of the Fellowship program. With this added experience and previous educational background, he was offered a faculty position at the Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon, where he worked for 2 years.
In the fall of 1981, Dr. deGruchy moved to the Silver Lake area of Los Angeles and started his current practice. At the same time, he was the Clinic Director, and Chairman of the Clinical Chiropractic Department at the Cleveland Chiropractic College Los Angeles, a position he held for 8 years.
Dr. John deGruchy has devoted his time providing Chiropractic Care to his patients and has been a mentor for many new Chiropractors.
After 30 years of practice he does enjoy his frequent desert getaways Saturday pm - Tuesday am.
He has also pursued his other areas of interests and hobbies, which include, Genealogy, collecting various curiosities, such as vinyl LP's, comics, pottery and works of art from 1930-present.
